Axiata offers Wikipedia free on mobile devices

PETALING JAYA: Axiata Group Bhd and the Wikimedia Foundation have tied up to offer Wikipedia on mobile devices free of data charges to Axiata customers throughout Asia.

“By making Wikipedia available at no data charge to its customers, Axiata is removing barriers to information while joining the Wikimedia Foundation to increase access to the free and open knowledge available on Wikipedia,” said Axiata in a statement yesterday.
