Genting profit soars 220% to RM2.48bil, but revenue drops Q4

PETALING JAYA: Genting Bhd's net profit for its fourth quarter ended Dec 31 surged year-on-year (y-o-y) by 220% to RM2.48bil on the back of lowered revenue at RM4.49bil from RM4.82bil.

“Lower revenue was recorded by the leisure and hospitality business in the United States and the plantation division. Group pre-tax profit from continuing operations decreased by 22% to RM1.35bil in the fourth quarter of financial year 2012 (FY12) compared with RM1.73bil in the fourth quarter of FY11,” the company said in a press release.
