Bank Rakyat profit up 8%

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) posted profit before tax and zakat for the nine-month period ended Sept 30 of RM1.62bil, up 8.1% over the RM1.5bil achieved for the same period last year.

Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaacob said the bank also recorded net profit of RM1.33bil compared to RM1.2bil in the same period a year ago, an increase of 10.5%.
