Local market trades in narrow band


KUALA LUMPUR: Share prices on Bursa Malaysia closed higher at midday break amid a rangebound trade, with the key FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (FBM KLCI) settling 0.07% higher due to sustained buying on selected index-linked counters.

At 12.30pm, FBM KLCI was 1.1 points higher at 1,669.09 after opening 0.53 points higher at 1,668.52. Gainers led losers 319 to 260 while 285 counters were unchanged. Turnover stood at 75.6 million shares worth RM540.7mil. Earlier, the benchmark index surged to an all-time high rising 3.66 points to 1,671.65.
