KLCI closes at record high amid mixed market


KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI closed at a record high of 1,646, just one point above the July 18 all-time high, supported by some fund buying of Petronas Gas, DiGi and Maxis though key regional markets were in the red.

At 5pm, the 30-stock KLCI was up 0.96 of a point to 1,646.32 after climbing to a record intra-day high of 1,650.42. Turnover was below the one billion shares level at 982.65 million units valued at RM1.22bil. There were 321 gainers, 422 losers and 348 counters unchanged.
