KUALA LUMPUR: Key Asian markets rallied on Monday, with Japan and South Korea notching gains of more than 2%, as hopes rose that growth in the US was picking up following a more-than-expected increase in jobs in July's data.
At Bursa Malaysia, telcos and selected dividend stocks pushed the FBM KLCI up 4.39 points or 0.27% to end the day at 1,639.43. Turnover was 1.08 billion shares valued at RM1.53bil. There were 402 gainers, 328 losers and 328 stocks unchanged.
