PETALING JAYA: Hiroshima, Japan-based Mazda Motor Corp and Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd have agreed to begin talks on a joint venture for the production and sale in Malaysia of the CX-5, planned for early 2013.
In a statement on its website, the carmaker’s chairman Takashi Yamanouchi said the talks reflected Mazda’s commitment to business in Malaysia, where it planned to produce 3,000 CX-5s annually. Mazda currently assembles Mazda3 locally.
