PublicInvest Research maintains Outperform on Genting Plantations

KUALA LUMPUR: Public Investment Bank Research said Genting Plantations's (GENP) 1QFY12 earnings were below its and consensus forecasts, accounting for only 16.9% and 16.5% respectively.

It said on Wednesday the lower-than-expected results were mainly attributed to higher operating costs incurred in labour wages, fertiliser application and foreign recruitment. No dividend was proposed during the quarter.
