KUALA LUMPUR: Blue chips closed higher on Thursday, aided by gains in Maybank, Petronas Gas and AirAsia following positive economic data amid some mild buying by local funds.
At 5pm, the FBM KLCI was up 3.16 points or 0.2% to 1,588.06. Turnover was 1.4 billion shares valued at RM1.39bil. The broader market improved with 376 gainers, 358 losers and 325 stocks unchanged.
