IJM’s purchase into concessionaire of West Coast Expressway seems positive

PETALING JAYA: IJM Corp Bhd's decision to buy into the concessionaire of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) is welcomed by the market as a strong indicator that the controversial project is on track for implementation.

Although not a surprising development, IJM's announcement on Tuesday that it would acquire a 20% stake in West Coast Expressway Sdn Bhd (WCE) lends credence to analysts' belief that the company would likely be the main beneficiary of the potentially huge contract spin-offs from the RM7.07bil WCE project.
