GOING by recent news articles, next month will be eventful for the Securities Commission (SC). To start with, the one-year extension of chairman Tan Sri Zarinah Anwar's tenure ends on March 31.
Singapore's The Straits Times reported that she would not go beyond her sixth year in that role, speculating that this has to do with the regulator's position on Sime Darby Bhd's acquisition of 30% of Eastern & Oriental Bhd (E&O) in August last year.
