EACH year-end, I have a personal tradition of quiet reflection of the year gone by. This year, I reflected on death, as I had attended quite a few funerals. Death has permanence about it. Your game is up. One significant loss in 2011 was Steve Jobs. His death reminded me of the greatest resurrection of a company.
By 1997, Apple was pretty close to extinction. Then came Think Different, one of the most memorable ad campaigns. It was based on a poem called The Crazy Ones by Craig Tanimoto:
