Financing issues affecting the SMEs

The financial sector blueprint, which charts the direction of the financial sector over the next decade, lacks a comprehensive road map on the development of the small and medium enterprise (SME), according to industry observers.

Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Malaysia SMEs deputy chairman Koong Lin Loong says little is mentioned on SME financing in the blueprint despite the fact that this sector is major contributor to the country's gross domestic product (GDP) and employment.
