KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will consider submitting a petition to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for palm oil feedstock to be considered under aggregate compliance approach to facilitate palm oil market access to the United States, said Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) regional manager, USA, Dr Rosidah Radzian.
She said that for palm oil-based biodiesel to gain market access to the United States, the feedstock would need to comply with US renewable biomass requirements. Currently, the EPA was only working on improving one pathway for palm oil-based biodiesel, regardless of the origin of the feedstock, Rosidah said.
