Reserve margin for gas?


PETALING JAYA: The gas supply shortage problem in the power sector has thrown up the idea of a reserve margin for the supply of gas that can help cushion the impact of expensive alternative fuels.

“This margin can be in the form of extra capacity at the upcoming regasification plant in Malacca,'' said an industry observer. “When something goes wrong, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) does not need to hunt for distillates and encounter problems like supply of trucks.
