Cahya Mata buying 20% stake in RM1.55bil OM Holdings’ project

KUCHING: Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd (CMSB) is taking up a 20% equity interest in Australia's OM Holdings Ltd's (OMH) US$500mil (RM1.55bil) manganese and ferro silicon smelting plant project in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu, Sarawak.

CMSB's wholly-owned subsidiary, Samalaju Industries Sdn Bhd, signed a shareholders' and subscription agreement for the strategic equity investment in the project's joint-venture company, OM Materials (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (OM Sarawak) last Thursday.
