Acer Q3 loss worse than expected


TAIPEI: Taiwan’s Acer Inc reported a worse-than-expected unaudited net loss in the third quarter, as the company continued to clean up inventory in Europe amid a sluggish economic situation.        

The PC vendor posted a net loss of NT$1.1bil (US$36.37mil) in July to September, worse than a consensus forecast of a NT$807.5mil loss from 12 analysts. The figure also compared with a net loss of NT$6.79bil in the second quarter. In the third quarter a year earlier, net profit was NT$4.29bil. – Reuters
