More measures by Govt to ensure adequate food supply


MORE long-term and short-term measures are expected to be taken by the Government to regulate the production of main food commodities to curb inflation amidst escalating food prices.

The Government will introduce the National Agro-Food Policy 2011-2020 which outlined four strategies to ensure adequate food supply, increase the value-add of the agro-food sector, complement and strengthen the supply chain as well as provide trained labour for the agriculture sector.
