KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd's (Petronas) net profit jumped 48.6% to RM21.7bil for the first quarter ended June 30 from RM14.6bil a year ago, boosted by higher prices of its products and a gain of RM2.6bil from the divestment of Cairn India Ltd.
The national oil company said favourable crude oil prices also boosted its revenue for the April to June quarter, helping it to rise by 24.6% to RM73bil against RM58.6mil posted a year ago.
