KUALA LUMPUR: Gold continued to rise amid fears of a global economic slowdown, and most key Asian financial markets extended their downward slide at the close on Monday, after a brief spell of speculative optimism earlier in the morning.
At 5pm today, spot gold jumped US$35.94 to US$1,888.01 per ounce while silver gained 92 cents to US$43.82.
