KUALA LUMPUR: Growing world population and economic expansion will drive energy demand by about 35% in 2030 compared with 2005, even with significant improvements in energy efficiency.
Natural gas would emerge as the second largest energy source behind fossil oil by 2030 while renewable energy would continue to expand, according to ExxonMobil Corp economics and energy division manager, corporate strategic planning Rob E. Gardner.
