MAJOR payment systems in Malaysia remained resilient without any material disruption last year reflecting timely settlement of both systemically important high-value transactions and retail transactions.
The real-time electronic transfer of funds and securities system (Rentas) continued to register increases in the daily average value of transactions settled in 2010, mainly involving foreign exchange settlements, reflecting the pick up in business and financial transactions as confidence in the global economy improved.
