Fair year seen for electronics sector

GEORGE TOWN: Despite rising oil prices and chaos in the Middle-East and Japan, some Penang-based electronics companies expect this year to be “comfortable” due to the growing demand for their niche products and a growing global consumer electronics and medical market.

Pentamaster Corp Bhd, Vitrox Corp Bhd, Globetronics Technology Bhd, and Mini-Circuits Technology (M) Sdn Bhd are some companies with niche products such as glove recycling machines, advanced vision inspection system and equipment, high brightness LED modules, and a new range of radio frequency components for the 4G networking infrastructure.
