Blueprint needed

Before Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd sets out to bring home the country's best brains from abroad, it first needs to understand the reasons why they are hestitant in returning home. While industry observers and experts have varied opinions on why Malaysians migrate, they say one of Talent Corp's initial task would be to draw up a blueprint on how to develop local talents and which gaps need to be filled.

Malaysian Institute of HR Management president Ramley Razalli says the reasons behind Malaysians leaving vary according to the new country of residence. Individuals who choose to work in Singapore do so because of the higher pay with such jobs requiring identical or similar qualifications in Malaysia.
