Highway toll rates unlikely to go up


PETALING JAYA: Will more tolls be abolished or will there be a moratorium on toll hikes for all tolled highways in the country now that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has announced the abolition of toll for a stretch of the East-West Link Highway and a five-year moratorium on toll hikes for the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway and the first phase of the East Coast Highway?

Last Friday's announcement came after Najib's October Budget 2011 speech on a five-year moratorium on toll hikes for four of the seven highways PLUS Expressways Bhd operates.
