AT the recently concluded the Telecommunications and Information Technology Senior-Officials Meeting or Telsom, a Japanese representative Tetsuo Yamakawa commented that Malaysia's main weakness was its low broadband penetration rate, especially in rural communities.
Broadband without users was not an engine for economic growth, he said at the meeting on Wednesday. He is the Japanese Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry Vice-Minister for policy coordination.
