SINGAPORE: Singapore's manufacturing output increased 31% in October, boosted by the biomedical industry.

The Economic Development Board (EDB) said the output of the biomedical manufacturing cluster expanded 107% year-on-year in October, bolstered by a 121% gain in the pharmaceuticals segment.

In its monthly report released yesterday, EDB said the strong growth in the pharmaceuticals segment, was primarily attributed to a different production mix of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

However, EDB said minus biomedical manufacturing, the republic's output grew 14.2%. - Bernama
