KUALA LUMPUR: Corporate transparency and accountability are critical factors in restoring trust and fighting corruption, bribery and money laundering, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales head of business law Felicity Banks said.
Banks said while corruption would never be eradicated entirely – be it in society or at corporate level – there should be systems in place, including check-and-balances and laws, to deter such activities.
