Value in gold jewellery exports to rise


GEORGE TOWN: The value of gold jewellery products exported from Malaysia in 2010 is expected to increase by 25% from RM5.5bil achieved last year.

Penang Goldsmith Association (PGA) chairman Joeson Khor told StarBiz that an increase of about 25% was expected because from January to August 2010, the value of gold jewellery products sold overseas had already reached RM4.49bil, about 12.8% higher than the RM3.98bil achieved in last year’s corresponding period.
