PETALING JAYA: Hopes are riding high among the palm oil and agriculture-related industry players to see the upcoming Budget 2011 allocate more tax incentives and subsidies in ensuring the two sectors are able to meet particularly the targets set under the Government’s Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) by 2020.
By 2020, the palm oil sector is targeted to contribute RM178bil while the agriculture sector RM49bil to Malaysia’s gross national income (GNI).
