Malaysiaa corporate bond market up despite quiet season

KUALA LUMPUR: The corporate bond market expanded 6% in the third quarter after soaring 77% in the second quarter – a commendable achievement considering the latest quarter coincided with the traditionally quiet month of Ramadhan and the ensuing Hari Raya holidays.

In a statement yesterday, RAM Rating Services Bhd said the corporate bond issuance in the first nine months of the year reached RM46.7bil, a tad lower than the previous corresponding period.
