TOKYO: Asian stocks struggled to find direction in early trading Friday, with markets wavering between positive and negative territory after another lackluster day on Wall Street.
Japan's Nikkei 225 stock average was up .04 percent to 9,194.53. as bargain-hunters moved to find good deals.
