PARTICIPANTS can expect to gain a lot from the Active Asia: Insight Indonesia forum. The speakers include HSBC Indonesia corporate banking head and senior executive Mark Emmerson and KRA Group chief executive officer Karim Raslan.
Emmerson will speak on the Economic Landscape and Financing Foreign Business in Indonesia while Karim will share about the Investment Outlook and Business Opportunities in Indonesia.
Emmerson, who has spent the last two years with HSBC Indonesia as head of corporate banking working with small, medium and large Indonesian enterprises, is well placed to share insights about the archipelago’s economic and financial landscape.
His talk will cover the country’s current economic landscape focusing on key economic trends, new business growth areas, Indonesia’s monetary policies and restrictions as well as regional business outlook.
He will also touch on accessing financing in Indonesia, cross-border trade and financing and give highlights of Malaysia and Indonesia’s bilateral trade agreement.
Emmerson graduated in 1988 from Loughborough University with an honours degree in banking and finance. He is an associate of the Institute of Bankers and is currently vice chairman of the European Business Chamber of Indonesia.
Karim will talk about strategic reasons why Indonesia’s economy is on the rise, the business opportunities this growth offers and major industries and regions that offer the most business opportunities.
He will also speak on the country’s investment landscape including international trade and foreign investments, and how Malaysian businesses can build better relationships with their Indonesian counterparts and customers through a better understanding of the country’s business culture and practices.
Karim read English and Law at Cambridge University. He has worked as a columnist, lawyer and regional analyst over the past 22 years.
