KUALA LUMPUR: The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KL Composite (FBM KLCI) Index rose to its highest since March 6, 2008, underpinned by strong buying in heavyweights, particularly banking stocks.
At 10am, the FBM KLCI rose 21.51 points to 1,321.29. Trading volume, however, was 325.3 million shares valued at RM446.2mil. Gainers outpaced losers by 410 to 86, while 188 counters were unchanged.
