Analysts: Ruling allows Astro to recoup RM1.1bil writedowns

KUALA LUMPUR: The tribunal ruling in favour of Astro All Asia Networks Plc pertaining to its dispute with Lippo Group will enable the company to recoup the RM1.1 billion writedowns related to its Indonesian venture, analysts say.

Astro announced yesterday that it had been awarded US$230 million (about RM786.6 million) by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre for the dispute over claims arising from a failed joint venture to operate a pay-TV service in Indonesia.
