PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has the least risky telecommunications regulatory environment in the Asia-Pacific as it is well developed and with few major changes taking place in recent years, highlighting certainty in the regulatory roadmap, a report by Fitch Ratings revealed.
Using its own internally developed scorecard in assessing the regulatory risk of the telco sector, Fitch in a Dec 21, 2009 report, gave Malaysia an overall score of 3.5 points, out of a maximum risk of 10 points.
