SINCE my last article on travelling (“To travel or not to travel?” StarBizWeek Dec 19), I have received much feedback. One reader felt that he could relate to the three-generation Singaporean family. However, he added that he often needed another vacation after the annual “seven-member happy family” holiday.
Besides burning a hole in his pocket, he viewed this annual family holiday as an investment (for his children’s exposure and continual education) and reward (for his wife and himself). Moreover, it is part of his parents’ retirement plan to spend quality time with their grandchildren.
