IT was hardly a surprise. Two weeks ago, water concessionaires Gamuda Bhd and Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPS) separately announced that the Selangor government would not proceed with the RM9.2bil takeover offer of their concessions parked under Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor Bhd (Splash) and Konsortium Abass Sdn Bhd (Abass) respectively.
With that, about 15 months of heated negotiations, some of which had at one point become a public spat and intense lobbying had come to a grinding halt.
