Malakoff – building power from inside out

A crowd from the surrounding villages in Pontian was seen waiting eagerly around the security booth of Tanjung Bin Power Plant on the morning of Dec 1.

They were waiting to join in a celebration. That day turned out to be one of the most happening days for the community in the quiet town. There was the presence of several local dignitaries, including Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman, who was there to witness the official opening of the first private coal-fired power plant in the country by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
