AMSTERDAM: The Dutch government said it would have to inject a further three billion euros (US$4.5bil) into nationalised bank ABN Amro, raising the national debt with no immediate return for the state.
The finance ministry also said on Thursday that a long-negotiated ABN asset sale to Deutsche Bank was worth 700 million euros, but could collapse unless parliament approved it by Dec 31. Deutsche Bank declined to comment.
