GEORGE TOWN: Retailers and manufacturers of consumer electronics and branded household goods in the country have performed well so far this year due to the expansion of their market share, and the growing affordability of products such as LCD television sets, computers and mobile phones.
A weak economic environment, flexible payment schemes and aggressive marketing strategies have helped the larger retailers and manufacturers to displace weaker competitors and expand their market share, while decreasing prices of LCD televisions and computers have driven up sales.
