SINGAPORE: The city-state’s top 40 wealthiest people are now worth a combined US$39bil, up 22% from US$32bil a year earlier, according to the 2009 Forbes Asia Singapore Rich List.
In releasing the list yesterday, Forbes said the increased wealth was partly due to the country’s richest gaining from the stock market’s jump by almost 90% since its March low.
