KUALA LUMPUR: Shares on Bursa Malaysia fell on Wednesday, as wary investors kept to the sideline with most Asian markets seen retreating from their new year highs achieved on Tuesday.
Sharp declines by blue chips Genting, Sime Darby and MISC pulled down the index 5.49 points lower at 1,196.58 points at the midday close. Market breadth was negative with 348 losing stocks leading 215 advancers.
