KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Dagangan Bhd, the marketing arm of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), plans to open 30 new stations by end-March next year in major cities in the country, said chairman Datuk Anuar Ahmad.

As at March 31, he said the company had 920 stations nationwide.

“It (investment) depends. A single station can cost between RM5mil and RM10mil while the bigger ones are RM15mil,” Anuar said after the company AGM yesterday.

Petronas Dagangan also planned to open 20 stand alone Mesra Convenience Stores in the near future, he said, adding that the company had identified a few locations.

On Feb 17, it opened the first stand alone Mesra Convenience Store at Universiti Teknologi Petronas in Tronoh, Perak.

The convenience store caters to the needs of its major market, comprising mainly university students. The store offers various items ranging from chilled drinks, confectionery, snacks and ready-to-eat food items.

Asked when the company would roll out the RON95 petrol at its stations, Anuar said the government wanted to have it at all petrol stations nationwide by September.

Currently, the company offers the RON95 petrol at two stations in Putrajaya and one in Kepong. – Bernama
