PETALING JAYA: Asian stock markets rose yesterday on hopes that the worst of the global recession may be over as US bank earnings beat expectations and several leading economic indicators in China and the United States made gains.
The only major regional index that fell was Japan’s Nikkei 225, which was down 0.92% at 8,842.68.
