PETALING JAYA: Blacklisting of Malaysia by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and G-20 as an uncooperative tax haven is a serious issue and needs to be resolved but the allegation is based on quite a technical point, say Malaysian tax experts.
According to Deloitte Malaysia associate director Tan Hooi Beng, the country already has double taxation agreements (DTAs) with 69 different jurisdictions that are modelled closely on OECD requirements.
