I WAS attending a recent executive programme held at a university, when a visiting professor reminded me of an age-old story about lemmings and their supposed tendency to jump off cliffs to their deaths. Truth or myth, let’s assume it was true, and you were one of the lemmings.
What would you do if you decide that you did not want to jump over the cliff like the hundreds before you? I suppose your “logical” decision would be to stop and turn back. Then, according to this good professor, instead of drowning after the jump off the cliff, you would probably be stampeded on by the hundreds behind you!
