LONDON: Washington’s pressure on China to adjust its exchange rate could destabilise Asia, Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz told the Financial Times.
According to Zeti, global imbalances built up over the past decade could not be rectified within a few months. The US has run up a huge current account deficit while Asian economies are mostly in surplus.
