PETALING JAYA: Glove makers have to comply with a more stringent defect standard after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) implemented new regulations effective Dec 19.
The new FDA rules raised the tolerable defect Acceptance Quality Level (AQL) to 2.5 from four previously for patient examination gloves and 1.5 from 2.5 for surgical gloves. AQL, used in sampling inspection, refers to the limit of a satisfactory process average.
