MIER chief to step down by year-end

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Institute of Economic Research’s (MIER) head, Professor Datuk Mohamed Ariff Abdul Kareem, will be stepping down from his position at the end of the year.

The affable academic, who helmed MIER as executive director for 12 years and is a familiar face to journalists who cover economics, has decided to call it a day and return to the ivory tower where he will again wear his “academic hat.”
